Are We Humble Before God

When we are humble before God, the first evidence of it is that we will receive Jesus and that should be followed by a lifetime of humility before Him. If we have not humbled ourselves before Him, we have not received Him at all. We need to be humble before God habitually in public, in private and in our hearts. That is what He deserves and it is the attitude we need. We have some wonderful examples of humility in the Bible and if we attend Biblical churches we will have visible examples of humility there as well. Even Jesus humbled Himself before His Father. We must humble ourselves before Him before we die and it is too late to change our eternal destiny.

Psalms 95:6: O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

Ephesians 3:14: For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Jamiesson-Faucet-Brown Commentary:

bow my knees--the proper attitude in humble prayer. Posture affects the mind, and is not therefore unimportant.

Matthew 26:39: And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

Matthew 6:6: But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Acts 7:60: And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

1 Peter 5:6: Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

Psalms 51:10: Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

James 4:7: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

1 Peter 5:5: Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
